Happy Funky Halloween

I have always liked to dress up for Halloween. Sometimes I would be the only person at work that would dress up. I always jumped at the chance to do something different. I dressed up last night for a costume contest at a bar we were going to. I was the only one in our group of four that did. I stood out a little bit at dinner. There were more folks dressed up at the bar. I finished in the top 3 of the contest. Not too bad. I say life is short wear the costume join the party and have fun!

Create Wearable Art

I am creating a few pieces of wearable art as a part of DIY Paint Challenge put out by Dionne Woods The Turquoise Iris https://www.theturquoiseiris.com/. I like a good challenge. I have got one piece completed so far. I found a hat a a thrift store that I wanted to paint. DIY Paint is pretty versatile and can paint a lot of things. https://diypaint.co/ I put 2 coats of an off white color that I had. It helped to water down the paint a little. I then took some Layered Chocolate and outlined the sunflowers. After that I added in all the colors. When everything dried I gave it a coat of clear wax to give it some protection and brighten up the colors. I posted a video on You Tube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeNaDsI_6ss&t=36s. I will be be back later with the pair of boots I plan to paint. Until then wear what you want and stay Funky!

Mini Art Monday

On Monday of this week I made some mini pieces of art out of some things I had on hand. I have lots of scrap wood. I took some of the small pieces and painted them white. Then I took some napkins that had little vases on them and decoupaged a single vase to the piece of wood. The napkins I used are https://amzn.to/40fR4Ke. After it dried I painted flowers in the vase to make a neat little piece of art. One of the pieces I added words and gave it to my sister. The words I like to use are https://amzn.to/3JvfSId. It doesn’t take a lot to make a big impact. Do be afraid to work with what you have. Till next time stay Funky and Have Fun!

Creating a Funky Life

Well here I am starting a new adventure. I am here to share my funky creativeness with the world. I long as many others to earn a living doing what they love. I don’t remember really how it all started. I remember writing stories in elementary school. I remember my cousin teaching me to cross stitch in JR High. I also remember I made a really neat glue book notebook in 6th grade with magazine pictures. I got it taken away. I wish I still had it. My creativeness has become such a big part of my life. Well stay tuned everyone and lets see what all kinds of funky stuff we can get into.
